And with each gaze, with each room, with each invitation to play, with each little detail I was further swept away from my world and was closer to that reality of theirs, to our world. It was raining when I left Kamchàtka, I pulled up the collar of the old coat I was given, held a firm grip on the handle of the valise and walked down the street accompanied by her as she was hiding in the doorways, searching for that last gesture, knowing that we might never see each other again.
